Three days in Bulgaria

Day 1: 

Begin in the capital city of Sofia. First, head on to take in the beauty of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral! Next, see Sofia's oldest structure, the St. George Rotunda, which dates back to the fourth century. Try a Meshana Skara (Bulgarian Mixed Grill) for lunch. After learning more about the history of the nation at the National Archaeological Museum, stroll along Vitosha Boulevard for some shopping or coffee.

Day 2: 

Travel to Plovdiv, one of Europe's oldest cities, by car on the second day, a journey that takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Start with a show in the Roman Theatre, which has been there for more than 2,000 years! After that, hike Nebet Tepe, an old hill with breathtaking city views. Try some Bulgarian moussaka for lunch. Explore Kapana District, a neighbourhood with galleries, art, and distinctive stores, after that. To find out more about the city, you can also go to the Ethnographic Museum. Explore the Old Town, with its historic homes and quaint cafes, to finish off the day.

Day 3: 

For your final day, take a trip to the Rila Monastery, also about1.5 hours from Sofia. It's a tranquil and stunning spot, a great escape from the city. Spend the morning wandering around the monastery and admiring its beautiful murals. For lunch, enjoy a local dish like patatnik (a potato specialty) and some kiselo mlqko (sour yogurt). In the afternoon, if you're feeling adventurous, you can climb to the Seven Rila lakes or simply relax and soak in the peaceful vibe of the area. Wrap up your day by returning to Sofia for a calm dinner.
